Aquascape Algaecide is a liquid pond algae control product that quickly and efficiently combats algae and stops algae growth in ponds, waterfalls, and fountains. Algaecide keeps water clear and greatly reduces pond and fountain maintenance. Aquascape Algaecide controls string algae growth as well as single-celled floating algae, also known as green water. Elimination of algae will allow you to spend more time enjoying your pond and less time maintaining it. A teaspoon will treat 50 gallons, making the addition of treatment quick, easy, and precise.

Algaecide can be used in ponds with fish and plants.

Calculate your pond size: Length (feet) x Width (feet) x Average Depth (feet) x 7.48 = US Gallons

Application Rate: Once algae growth is under control, add one dose every 5 days. Weekly doses of Algaecide will control growth and reduce pond/fountain maintenance.

Important Application Tips: Before using Algaecide, make certain that the pond has vigorous aeration. Thoroughly mix Algaecide into pond/fountain by adding near the pump outflow, waterfall, or aeration device. Algaecide can be mixed in a bucket of pond/ fountain water; repeat dose every three days until algae is controlled. Be prepared to siphon out dead filamentous algae.

    Q & A

What does this stuff do to the beneficial bacterias? Others kill it. And is it safe for frogs? carol fanning asked on July 8, 2023

    Hi Carol!

Most, if not all, chemical algaecides will have an effect on beneficial bacteria, as will UV light products. That said, algaecides are typically recommended as a temporary solution during large algae blooms, spring start-ups, or water change events. Once the treatment is complete, you can add beneficial bacteria back in to repopulate the pond.

This formula should not be used with crustaceans,
including crabs, shrimp and freshwater lobsters but is safe for fish, reptiles, and amphibians.
